Working together with you
COVID-19 is a global issue that has impacted every aspect of our lives. Of course, the impact has landed in different ways depending on the country, state, county, city, and town. The purpose of this communication is to inform you of measures that we are taking within the Computacenter US business to maintain service levels.
Above all, we hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy through the COVID-19 situation. We not only pride ourselves on the business-to-business relationships, but the personal relationships that we continue to cultivate that are just as important. Collectively, our people have worked tirelessly together over long days, many nights and weekends to accomplish challenging goals. We have experienced life together in all forms – the many ups and downs, joys and sorrows, triumphs and tragedies. It is often said that business is not personal, but to our team, the two are inextricably linked. That is what makes the COVID-19 challenge so unique. The line between business success and personal wellness is blurred to the point of being nearly indistinguishable. As you can imagine, the health and welfare of our employees is our first priority. But beyond that, our team wants to make sure that we are doing everything we can to keep your business running smoothly during these challenging times.
Please see below for some changes that Computacenter has implemented to protect our employees and customers during this time:
- Much of our workforce has shifted to a work-from-home model. Business functions that have moved to a WFH strategy include Sales, Marketing, Customer Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Project Management, and Service Delivery. A robust suite of collaboration tools allows our remote workforce to collaborate and solve customer challenges in much the same fashion in which they are accustomed to. We will also continue communicating via whatever platform our customers prefer, be it email, voice, video, text, or instant messenger.
- Some roles within our Managed Service business involve our people working from customer sites. In these situations, we are adhering to our customers’ policies regarding work locations.
- Our Integration Center remains open amidst the “shelter in place” challenges, as our facility meets the exemption criteria for essential businesses. From there, we have taken immediate steps to protect and reward our valued employees at the IC. For the safety of our employees, we have mandated social distancing requirements, new shift patterns, and regular deep cleaning. The result is a fully operational facility. Much of the current scope at the IC is providing WFH solutions and edge infrastructure for our customers. We remain open for business so that you can continue to stay open for your customers.
We don’t pretend to believe that we can control every aspect of COVID-19. There are large forces at work, including government regulations, and the need mentioned above to balance employee wellness with business capability. Our commitment is that we will continue to do everything we can to keep our overall service level high. We owe that to you not only as your business partner but also as an extension of our personal relationship.
