Computacenter celebrates the launch of the new digital innovation hub at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre. The hub will offer healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with emerging technologies aimed at delivering better patient outcomes and industry collaboration.
The new hub, named The CO-LAB, is a multi-disciplinary space where people from the heathcare and wider community can discuss ideas, trial new technologies, organise informal meetings, and collaborate with colleagues outside of a formal framework. The space provides access to new and emerging healthcare technologies, in-person meeting and video conferencing facilities, and a wide variety of multi-use spaces that are designed to inspire professionals in a relaxed and informal setting.
Computacenter has supported the CO-LAB through consultation services provided by business support units and specialist healthcare sales teams. In partnership with The CO-LAB, Computacenter has helped develop a communications strategy, technology roadmap, and provided the expertise to enable productive collaboration in the space.
Vikki Lewis, Chief Digital Officer, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust commented: ‘The CO-LAB will enable the NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire to develop stronger relationships with educational establishments locally, to help develop the digital skills of the future. We are also keen to ensure that the space supports our staff as a wellbeing space, given the challenges that COVID-19 has presented over the past couple of years.’

The CO-LAB was opened on July 1 for use by hospital employees, partner organisations, and healthcare related parties.
