Computacenter retires Digica sub-brand for seamless service

02/03/09

Computacenter announces that from today, March 2 2009, it will no longer be marketing its mid-market managed services under the ‘Digica’ name. We believe this benefits our customers, to whom we will be able to present a seamless end-to-end range of services and solutions under the Computacenter core brand.

While Digica’s people and capabilities remain core to Computacenter’s offering, the two organisations have been integrated progressively since the company’s acquisition in January 2007. The merged organisation offers customers an end-to-end IT infrastructure capability, with the acquired strengths in datacentre and applications, combined with its offshore capability in South Africa, enhancing Computacenter’s historic strengths in networking and at the desktop.

This extended capability is proving attractive to a growing number of customers. Recent successes include a five-year contract with Crest Nicholson in the construction industry for the design, implementation and management of a new end-to-end IT infrastructure to include desktop, server virtualisation, implementation of a collaboration tool suite and a new backup solution.

Retiring the Digica sub-brand will help Computacenter build on this success by further leveraging the combined capability and intellectual property of the merged organisation to reduce customers’ operational expenditure and help them compete in a challenging economic environment.

Mark Howling, Director of Services and Solutions at Computacenter, comments,“Some customers have found the continuation of the Digica name confusing, as they already see us as an end-to-end service provider. The sub-brand retirement represents the final phase of an integration that is already giving customers a more seamless, comprehensive service and our staff greater opportunities for career development.”
