Computacenter becomes Sun's Service Partner of the Year

Sun Microsystems™ has named Computacenter 'Service Partner of the Year 2001' at the Sun Partner Awards ceremony.

The award recognises Computacenter's evolution as a leading service provider for Sun, as Simon Walsh, Director of Client Services at Computacenter confirms. "We have grown this business dramatically over the last five years. Our Sun revenues have increased significantly, and our range of services, which follows the Sun Site-based services model, has proved a clear winner with our customers."

The Site-based Services model offers Sun customers a collection of services to help them achieve their support objectives at a manageable cost. Computacenter now offers the full range of Sun services, and all can be used modularly. The highest level of service includes the provision of a Service Delivery Manager (SDM) at the customer's site who works as an integral part of the customer team, identifying potential issues in advance, and ensuring that services are maintained to the highest level.

In addition to its outstanding revenue growth, Computacenter has positive proof of the success of this model through its recent appointment by Cable & Wireless to a Managed Sun Services contract.
