Computacenter Wins Top Enterprise Accreditation

Computacenter is the first UK infrastructure services provider to be given the prestigious title of Enterprise Service Delivery Partner (ESDP) by Compaq, now part of the new HP.

ESDP is the highest level of accreditation available in the current partner programme. The accreditation is designed to underline the value of partner-delivered HP services, and enable organisations confidently to choose partners with a proven ability to deliver enterprise services.

ESDP was awarded to Computacenter following an extensive audit of the company’s managed service offerings and competencies. During the audit, HP evaluated Computacenter’s service offerings, and the comments of key customers across a range of sectors.

Jim Kent, General Manager, HP Services, UK and Ireland confirmed that Computacenter met the required standards. “We audited both processes and achievements, including the use of management tools and the company’s extensive technology facilities, such as its Service Operations Centre and Solutions Centre. Throughout the audit we were impressed by the level of investment that Computacenter has made, not just in its state-of-the-art facilities, but also in the training and development of the people who deal with our customers.

“We saw various examples of pro-active incident avoidance, and customer reporting, and numerous examples of best practice. In service development, Computacenter defines solutions based on business need and employs the appropriate leading-edge technology.”

The ‘enterprise’ level of accreditation is a distinction that can only be achieved by HP partners that can demonstrate expertise in the implementation and management of Intel-based enterprise systems, MS Datacenter and SAN solutions.

The ESDP title also recognises that Computacenter provides a complete managed service offering across an entire suite of HP products from Presario notebooks to Proliant servers, as well as the Enterprise StorageWorks range.

Simon Walsh, Computacenter’s Director of Client Services, cites the achievement of the ESDP accreditation as a milestone in the company’s partnership, which dates back several years. “Computacenter is particularly proud of many of our pure service offerings such as the helpdesk, remote network services and technical consultancy. The audit has highlighted many of our strengths, ranging from managed services to web hosting and disaster recovery, and given us a clear appraisal of where we can build on this excellence to expand and develop in the future.
