Cornhill removes IT risk with Computacenter's Solutions Centre
At today's launch of Computacenter's unique technology services centre, Cornhill Insurance PLC became the first company to use the centre as part of the beta testing programme, and as a result has been able to eliminate the major areas of risk surrounding the installation of new IT systems.
The Solutions Centre, based at Computacenter's head office in Hatfield, boasts the widest ever range of leading enterprise technology and will enable businesses to complete proof of concept, load testing and staging in a risk-free environment.
It is the first facility in the UK to offer multi-vendor proof of concept and testing services in an independent environment across the full range of IT infrastructure. It gives companies the ability to validate and prove their technology choices, reduce capital expenditure and have greater confidence in the performance and scalability of their IT systems.
Cornhill is using the Solutions Centre to determine that the storage infrastructure configuration meets the company's production requirements. Rod Adams, IT Infrastructure and Planning Manager at Cornhill, believes that the ability to test applications with such a wide range of technology is extremely beneficial. "The Solutions Centre provides a simulated production environment where we can evaluate the proposed storage architecture. This not only reduces risk but shortens the time it would have taken to complete the evaluation internally."
