Under the NHS Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, you are entitled to licences for a diverse range of desktop software solutions that will help increase productivity and decrease costs.

  • Office Professional Plus 2007: including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, InfoPath, Communicator, Integrated Enterprise Content Management, Advanced Information Rights Management and Policy Capabilities and Integrated Electronic forms.

  • Core CAL: including Windows Server 2008 Client Access Licence, Exchange Server Standard 2007 Client Access Licence, Office SharePoint Portal Server Standard 2007 Client Access Licence, and System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Client Management Licence.

  • Windows 7 Upgrade

  • SQL Client Access Licence

  • Windows 2003 Terminal Server Client Access Licence

  • ForeFront Security Suite: including Microsoft Forefront™ Protection Suite and Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway CAL.

  • Whale IAG (intelligent Application Gateway) CAL

  • Desktop Optimisation Pack

  • Enterprise CAL*: includes all of the components of the Core CAL Suite listed above plus Microsoft Exchange Server Enterprise CAL, Microsoft SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL, Microsoft Office Communications Server Standard CAL, Microsoft Office Communications Server Enterprise CAL, Windows® Rights Management Services CAL, and the System Center Client Management Suite (Composed of the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager Client Management License, Microsoft System Center Service Manager Client Management License, and System Center Data Protection Manager Client Management License.

    The allocation of Enterprise Client Access Licences (ECALs) under the 2007-10 has now been fully utilised. NHS organisations wishing to implement solutions requiring ECALs may do so, but at their own cost, purchasing ECALs from their chosen LAR as they would any other software licence.

    There is therefore no further requirement for any Trust to submit ECAL business cases to NHS CFH for approval.
