Belgium is a highly developed market with a diversified economy that is heavily reliant on international trade. The country ranks as the 11th largest commercial power worldwide and is the United States' ninth biggest trading partner despite Belgium’s small size. Belgium's geographical location on the borders with Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands makes it a strategically important country in Europe.

The Belgian IT sector is an important contributor to the Belgium economy, representing about one-third of the total growth. The IT market is specialised in online financing, security systems and electronic payment techniques. Solution: Implement a pan-European IT procurement system with standardise purchasing options. Computacenter has been supplying Pioneer Europe with HP servers, desktops, peripherals and printers since early 2003. In that time Computacenter has shipped more than 6.500 (actual number 6.541) products across Europe. These products are ordered by the different subsidiaries via Computacenter
Connect - a specialist e-procurement tool that enables customers to purchase IT software and hardware over the Internet.

Computacenter Connect also helps Pioneer fulfil its objective of a standard IT infrastructure across Europe, and provides customers with additional services, which can help them monitor purchasing costs and track orders.

Customer Name: Nestle
Business Description: The world's largest food and beverage company with more than 247.000 people and factories or operations in almost every country in the world.
Business Challenge: In the context of Nestlé's GLOBE project for improving operational efficiency, a consistent infrastructure for 48.000 workstations and 1.700 servers in 47 European Markets was required, in order to enable end-to-end management and centralised support.
Solution: Standardisation of PC images and hardware and implementation of a single Active Directory domain based on W2K and Exchange 2000; Project management provided by Computacenter in cooperation with local Nestlé deployment teams. Computacenter's international project management experience helped to achieve project success, based on high quality planning and reporting, as well as multi-lingual communication skills - key for managing such a vast project across hundreds of sites in all European countries.

Business Description: SWIFT is the industry-owned cooperative providing secure messaging services and interface software to 7.800 financial institutions in 204 countries. Business Challenge:Over 7,800 financial institutions in more than 204 countries connect to one another through SWIFT, exchanging millions of messages, valued in trillions of dollars, every business day. To sharpen its focus on this core business, SWIFT wanted to provide a common, high level of support to its internal IT users across all geographies, through one point of contact.

Solution: Computacenter provides SWIFT with IT helpdesk and related services within a global contract since 2001. We provide a centralized IT user support desk in La Hulpe, Belgium, and Deskside support teams in each country, which work under the service desk’s control. The contract commits to service levels agreed with the customer and provides coverage 24 hours a day for 2,000 users in Europe, Asia Pacific and the USA.
Services Delivered: Computacenter team based at SWIFT implemented best practice desktop management based on ITIL philosophy :
Centralized Service desk, Incident management, Problem management, Request management and Asset management.
