Upgraded cabling infrastructure will enable Nationwide to roll-out new technologies and dramatically increase network connectivity In today’s competitive environment, financial services companies must be able to keep up-to-date with new technologies. The ability to deploy new applications, however, is dependent on the reliability and flexibility of a company’s network and cabling infrastructure. To ensure it could take advantage of emerging technologies, Nationwide partnered with Computacenter to undertake the mammoth task of upgrading its cabling infrastructure. As part of the project, which involved the connectivity for 8,000 desktops, the building society also opted to deploy an intelligent patching solution to aid ongoing management of its estate. As a result of the cabling upgrade, Nationwide’s network connectivity is now 50 times faster, which will enable the roll-out of various new applications. The building society has also been able to simplify the management of its IT infrastructure. |
