Computacenter Services has enhanced its datacentre, remote services and application management offerings with the acquisition of Digica, a leading specialist in IT infrastructure management and application services for medium sized public and private sector organisations (see pg.18). This complements Computacenter’s historical focus on IT managed services to larger organisations.
Digica provides datacentre managed services and SAP/Oracle application services from purpose-built datacentres in Nottingham, Warrington, Leeds and an off-shore centre in Cape Town, South Africa. The addition of a remote management facility in Cape Town complements Computacenter Services’ purpose-built service desk in Barcelona. This provides the organisation with an even stronger international service delivery model.
Simon Walsh, managing director of Computacenter Services, said: “I’m excited about the opportunities this creates for our collective clients, of which there is limited overlap. Specifically, the opportunity to bring a broader services portfolio through Digica to their clients, and strengthen our datacentre operations via existing Digica assets and competencies.”
While existing client relationships with Digica will remain largely unchanged, they can look forward to accessing a broader range of service offerings. Digica will continue to operate as an entity and the brand will be retained.
Mark Howling, chief executive of Digica, commented: “This is a very exciting development for Digica and supports our objective to become recognised as the leading supplier of IT managed services and outsourcing to medium-sized public and private sector organisations.”
He added: “Our clients will benefit from access to the resources and capabilities of Computacenter, while continuing to enjoy their position as valued and significant customers of a business dedicated to this segment.”
