On Friday 7th of March, Ulla Franz, General Manager Computacenter Benelux, passed away after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Over the seven years of Ulla’s management, Computacenter Benelux grew to a team of over 150 IT professionals, and revenues of over € 40 million.
Ulla Franz graduated in Political Sciences from the Trier University (Germany) in 1977 and. began her career in a sales position with a German manufacturing company.
In 1995, Ulla created the European business unit of Vanstar Professional Services, an international team of consultants, project managers and certified engineers. Her success in building services-oriented businesses was based on her deep involvement in the PC industry from its early days in 1983, when she started as Consultancy/Training Manager with Computerland Europe. Between 1987 and 1995, Ulla Franz held the position of Director, Systems & Consultancy, responsible for delivering consultancy services to customers in over 20 European countries.
In May 1999, Ulla founded Inacom Services Europe, a service provider with offices in Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK that was acquired by Computacenter in June 2000. As General Manager Ulla turned this company into a profitable organisation, focusing on pan-European projects and outsourcing services for multinational customers.
Ulla Franz leaves a husband, son and daughter, and one grandchild.
Ulla was well-known and highly regarded in both Belgium and Luxembourg. She will be sorely missed by her many friends, colleagues and business contacts.
